The Price Of Hypocrisy

I have just sent off this letter to two of my local rags:
My friends and I are extremely concerned about the judgement and philosophy of our MP Adam Price. While Mr. Price is to be commended for trying to impeach Tony Blair and for putting Carmarthenshire on the political map, we believe that he seems to be more concerned with developing his own media profile than doing the job he was elected to do and represent us, not himself at Westminster.
Many of Mr. Price’s constituents have found it strange and disappointing that it took him two years to publicly express his opposition to the controversial gas pipeline running though the constituency.
Mr. Price supports his party’s oxymoronic Europe policy, even though it runs contrary to Plaid’s long-term goal of an independent Wales. Does Mr. Price really believe that Welsh lives and issues would be better served in Brussels and Strasburg than they are at present (however imperfectly) in Westminster and Cardiff Bay? An ‘independent’ Wales within the EU isn’t independence at all! Plaid’s policy smacks of anti-English prejudice for it’s own sake rather than a stance based on a conscious, rational process of thought.
Perhaps most disturbingly of all, Mr. Price signed Early Day Motion 982 (February 20) in support of Fidel Castro’s tropical gulag in Cuba. Though Plaid’s leader in Westminster, Elfyn Llwyd’s support for this EDM came as no surprise to me, Mr. Price’s support for an EDM also signed in favour of by controversial figures such as George Galloway and Paul Flynn certain did. Does our MP really believe that liberty and human rights are less important than having supposedly “first-class free healthcare and education provision for the people” and “very good dentistry” as claimed by some other MPs?
Is Mr. Price aware of the plight of journalist Normando Hernández González who has been imprisoned by Castro and his thugs for ‘endangering national security’? Is Mr. Price aware that Mr. Hernández is in poor health, but been denied the right to take up a generous offer of asylum from the government of Costa Rica by his jailers? Is Mr. Price also aware that Cuba jails more journalists than any other nation bar China, with 59 presently in captivity? Would Mr. Price and his Plaid comrades like to see an independent Wales governed according to the Cuban model?!?
It’s ironic that a man that was recently named Gay Politician of the Year and according to his profile on the social networking website “Facebook”, claims to be a Libertarian should give his support for a regime that has outlawed homosexuality and imprisons, even executes gays in labour camps.
Adam Price is not a bad man, but he urgently needs to pay more attention to us, instead his own ego and Elfyn Llwyd, otherwise he may find himself on the dole after the next general election. May I suggest that Mr. Price focus his energies on fighting for a better deal from Carmarthenshire Council, who continue to treat Iori Jones, Trish Breckman, Eddie Roberts and all of us with casual contempt.
I must give credit to FIDO The Dog for some of the background information.

Scenes of a Graphic Nature

It's been a while since I've had a go at the Gormless One, so lets do so!
Out of sheer boredom (El Tel is rather quiet at the moment), visited Gallas' official web site and clicked on the 'Cartoons' section. I was greeted by a series of crude, unflattering and even offensive images of the looney left's pet hates (Thatcher, Israel, the United States etc.). Some of the stuff wouldn't be out of place in the infamous Der Sturmer.

Cruel, Callous & Corrupt Hypocrites

So our lords and masters are ordering our brave war veterans to pay back their pensions while our greedy and corrupt MPs prepare to vote for themselves an inflation-busting 10% increase of their own wages and pensions. These MPs' are also running ridiculous amounts of taxpayers' money on 'expenses' while ordering other public sector workers to expect a below-inflation salary increase of 1.9-2.5%. When this lot 'retire', they are awarded peerages for their shameless greed and corruption or are chosen by their equally slimy colleagues to join the Evilpean Union gravy boat as commissioners where they are free to commit even worse acts of corruption with taxpayers' money and get away with it.
What a fucking shower of total, shameless cunts! The original Guido Fawkes (circa 1605) had the right idea!!!

Quote of the Day 22.12.2007

"While searching for pictures of Gail Sheridan I discovered the oxymoronically named Socialist Unity. Irony heaped on irony in that within the first couple of posts I found a piece outlining the reasons George Galloway is a right wing class traitor." - Right For Scotland
The Gormless One is a lot of things, but he is not a right winger (on the political football field at any rate).

How on earth were those IRA terrorist cunts Adams and McGuinness able to claim almost £275,000 between themselves when they refuse to pledge alliegence to the Queen and thus barred from sitting in the House of Commons chamber and rarely travel outside of Ulster on Parliamentary business? Those two make Tony Blair and George Galloway look like paragons of thrift and vitue in comparisson!

Galloway to be suspended from Commons over Iraq

GEORGE GALLOWAY, the MP who campaigned against the Iraq war, is to be suspended from parliament over his links to the United Nations oil-for-food programme in Iraq.
The parliamentary standards watchdog will rule this week that Galloway failed properly to declare his links to a charitable appeal partially funded from money made by selling Iraqi oil under Saddam Hussein, according to a source close to the inquiry. The one-month suspension for Galloway, often referred to as “Gorgeous George”, is one of the most severe given to an MP.
Galloway, who was expelled from Labour, is now an MP for the Respect party. He may also be asked to apologise to the Commons for his behaviour but will launch a robust defence of his conduct. He denies any wrongdoing.
The UN oil-for-food programme was set up to allow Saddam to sell Iraqi oil to buy humanitarian supplies, but he corruptly awarded oil contracts to politicians and businessmen around the world.
In 1998 Galloway founded the Mariam Appeal, which campaigned for the lifting of sanctions on Iraq. The appeal, which paid Galloway’s wife and funded international travel for the MP, received almost £450,000 from Fawaz Zureikat, a Jordanian businessman who was also a trustee of the appeal. It subsequently emerged that more than half of this money came from the proceeds of Iraqi oil sales. An investigation by the American Senate alleged that the Mariam Appeal was used by the Iraqi regime to finance Galloway.
However, the MP strenuously denies that he was complicit in any such arrangement and claims he is the victim of a smear campaign. He says he had no idea that the money donated had come from Iraqi oil sales.
The Mariam Appeal, which raised more than £1.4m, has never filed any accounts and the parliamentary authorities have been unable to account for some of the expenditure.
About bloody time! I hope the Gormless One's next stop is a prison cell.

Galloway beaten in sectarian attack

Police are investigating claims that George Galloway, the Respect MP, was kicked and taunted during a sectarian attack. The politician said the incident happened at Glasgow Airport on Sunday, after he was threatened on a flight from London.
He believes a group of men returning from an Orange Walk in London targeted him because he is a Celtic supporter.
Mr Galloway, who was travelling to give a talk at the Royal Concert Hall, said: "There was one guy I would describe as a ringleader who said, 'I don't like your radio talk, I don't like your newspaper talk, I have a religious duty to knock you down' "
He added that he was taunted during the British Midland flight, and was kicked on both ankles and jostled in the baggage reclaim area. Police are examining videos.
Mr Galloway said his "terrifying" experience began during the flight, adding: "I had a feeling of dread. I hurried off the plane and got to the luggage carousel as quickly as possible and prayed my bag would come first but, of course, it didn't. The group came up behind me and they were straight in with the sectarian insults and threats. I felt one man kick me on one ankle and I was then kicked on the other ankle."
Strathclyde Police confirmed that a complaint had been received from the MP.

Galloway Is A B'Stard!

It been too long since I have had a go at Gormless George Galloway, so lets see what he has been up to recently.... Oh dear....
George Galloway last night branded the thrust of a controversial report "a complete and utter lie". The document claims a £1.5m campaign, founded by the MP, received large amounts of money from "improper transactions" under the discredited UN oil-for-food programme.
The leader of the Respect Party also accused the Charity Commission - which conducted the investigation into the Mariam Appeal - of blacken- ing his name by suggesting he "may have known" some of the money flowing into the political campaign was allegedly tainted.
"It's a smear," declared Ron McKay, Mr Galloway's spokesman, who said the former Glasgow MP treated the commission "with contempt". He told The Herald: "It's a complete and utter lie. There's no evidence against George. They never even spoke to him."
The commission's report refers repeatedly to the MP's denial of any wrongdoing but notes how it is "concerned, having considered the totality of the evidence before it, that Mr Galloway may also have known of the connection between the appeal and the programme".
When asked if this was leaving a question-mark over the MP's integrity, a spokeswoman for the commission told The Herald: "Our concern is public trust in charities. I'm sorry not to answer the question directly. Based on all the evidence we've seen, we are concerned George Galloway may have known."
The commission says it is satisfied funds received by the appeal were spent for humanitarian purposes. But it adds that, in accepting the money, the appeal's five trustees, who included the back bencher, were "not sufficiently vigilant and did not properly discharge their legal duties regarding these donations".
The Mariam Appeal was founded in 1998 by the MP to provide medicines along with medical equipment and assistance to the people of Iraq and to arrange for medical treatment for Iraqi children outside Iraq.
The commission investigated the appeal in 2003 and concluded that the trustees had been unaware they had created a charity but had spent donations for their intended humanitarian purposes. However, following reports in 2005 from the UN and the US Senate alleging that tainted money had flowed from the oil-for-food programme to the appeal, the commission began a second inquiry.
Much of the latest report centres on Fawad Zureikat, a Jordanian businessman, the appeal's first chairman and a friend of Mr Galloway.
It says he donated a large part of the £1.47m given to the fund, some £448,000, noting: "As Mr Zureikat made his donations to the appeal from commissions and other payments derived from the programme, the commission has concluded these donations came from improper sources."
The report also points out that Mr Zureikat, who has previously denied any wrongdoing, did not respond to requests for information, nor did Dr Aminah Abu-Zayyad, a former scientist in Glasgow and Mr Galloway's ex-wife.
The commission says it does not have any powers of criminal prosecution and will not be taking further action.
In March, The Herald revealed Mr Galloway would not face a criminal investigation by Scotland Yard into allegations he broke UN sanctions by allegedly taking oil money from Saddam Hussein, a claim he has denied.
The Metropolitan Police, after liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service, dropped any idea of investigating claims of corruption against the 52-year-old MP, or anyone else.
While the Serious Fraud Office is expanding its probe into alleged fraud concerning humanitarian aid contracts to take in oil contracts, it has made clear Mr Galloway will not figure in investigations.
In 2005, Mr Galloway testified before the US Senate and denied oil-for-food allegations, saying: "I have never seen a barrel of oil, never bought one, never sold one, and neither has anyone on my behalf."

Can anyone credible actually confirm this claim, or is Gallas having another one of his Jeffery Archer moments again?
